MySSH

Rust core, no Electron · SSH client for macOS, Windows and Linux

The lightweight Termius alternative under 20 MB on Mac

Hosts, terminal, SFTP and keys in one quick app for Mac, Windows and Linux. What you sync is encrypted on your device first.

Mac with Apple Silicon or Intel · Windows 10 and 11 · Linux · No account needed

Also for Windows · Linux

Start typing, and MySSH offers commands from your history, paths on the server, subcommands with what they take, and the names of containers it has seen. Write what you need in words. When nothing else fits, AI turns it into a command, and it runs only when you press Enter. Advanced mode: each server's processor, memory and disk on its tile, and whether it is online. One button, and SFTP opens in the same session, right in the folder your terminal is in. Open a config on the spot, change it and save it straight back to the server. A saved command runs in one click, on any of your hosts. One switch, and a database on the server opens on your computer, through the connection already open.

Fast

The core is written in Rust. No Electron and no browser bundled inside.

Light

The Mac installer is under 20 MB, about the size of a few photos from your phone.

Secure

Sync is end-to-end encrypted, and your master password never leaves your device.

Affordable

Free on your computer; Pro, with sync, is €9.99 a year.

Features

Everything you need for your servers, nothing you don't

Less typing, less searching, fewer windows.

Every server in its place

Groups, tags and a search that looks at names, addresses, users and systems. MySSH recognises a server's OS by itself, and notices when several hosts share a login: one click gathers them into an identity, and from then on you change the password once for all of them. Pin the hosts you open most, and they stay at the top. In advanced mode each tile shows the server's processor, memory and disk, and whether it is online.

Commands you never retype

Save commands and scripts as snippets, then insert or run them in one click. MySSH notices what you run most often and offers to save it.

Files side by side

Your computer on the left, the server on the right. SFTP opens with one button over the connection already open, with no second sign-in, right in the folder your terminal is in, and every tab has its own. Copy in both directions, fix permissions, edit a config in the built-in editor or in any app on your computer. Copies queue up, three files at a time, and a folder can go as one archive.

A terminal that helps while you type

Suggestions from your history, paths on the server, snippets, container names, and the subcommands of docker, git and others with what each takes. Errors, warnings, IP addresses and links stand out, a dropped connection comes back by itself, and there are nine colour schemes to choose from.

Ports on the server, as if they were here

A database, an admin page, anything that listens on the server but is closed to the internet: port 5432 on your computer leads through SSH to Postgres there. Pick the host and the service, and the helper fills in the ports. Forwards open with the connection, come back after a reconnect, and listen on your computer only. LocalForward lines of your ssh config come along with the import.

Keys without the ceremony

Generate an Ed25519, ECDSA or RSA key, or import your own. Install it on many servers at once: MySSH adds the key and proves it works by signing in with it.

The same setup on every device

With Pro, your hosts, snippets and settings follow you across macOS, Windows and Linux. They are encrypted before they leave the device. Change different things in one host on two devices, and both changes are kept.

Invite someone into your terminal

With Pro, send a link and they see what you see. One person types at a time, and the keyboard is yours until you hand it over. It stays off until you turn it on.

A command from plain words

Write what you need, in any language: “find big files here”, “restart nginx”. When nothing else can be suggested, MySSH offers to turn the line into a command with AI. The command is only put on the line and runs when you press Enter, and a risky one is marked. Passwords, tokens and keys are taken out before anything is sent. Free has a few every few hours, Pro many more.

Your own computer, in a tab

Terminal at the foot of the sidebar opens your own shell beside your servers: zsh or bash on a Mac, PowerShell on Windows, your shell on Linux, with the same suggestions, colour schemes and search.

Bring your hosts along

Moving from another client takes two steps. MySSH finds your ssh config, FileZilla, MobaXterm, PuTTY, WinSCP and Tailscale on the computer, or reads an export file; you tick the hosts to bring. Folders become groups, key files come into the keychain, and hosts you already have are left unticked.

Made for Tailscale

Your tailnet's machines come in with one click and show whether they are online. Tailscale SSH works as it should: no keys, and when it asks to confirm, the connection screen has the page one click away.

Security

We can't read your data. That is the point.

Your vault is encrypted on your device with a key that comes from your master password. Our server keeps the ciphertext and nothing that could open it.

End-to-end encryption

Hosts with their saved passwords, identities, snippets and settings are encrypted on your device with XChaCha20-Poly1305 before they are sent.

The master password stays with you

It never leaves your device. The server gets only a derived sign-in key, and that key cannot decrypt anything.

Connections are direct

SSH and file transfers go straight from your computer to your server. Nothing passes through our cloud.

Nobody is watching

No analytics, no telemetry, no advertising. And the app works in full without any account at all.

Why Pro costs money

Sync, shared sessions and AI suggestions run on our servers around the clock, and those servers have to be paid for, updated and looked after every day. A small yearly fee covers that, and what is left goes into MySSH itself: new features, fixes and faster releases. Everything that runs on your own computer stays free.

Questions

Asked before you download

How is MySSH different from Termius?

It covers the same everyday ground: hosts, terminal, SFTP, snippets, keys and sync. But it stays small and quick, with a core written in Rust and a Mac installer under 20 MB. It is built to be the affordable alternative, and it runs on macOS, Windows and Linux. See the full comparison.

Do I need an account?

No. Everything works without one, and your data then stays on your device. Sync between your devices comes with Pro, and you can sign in whenever you like.

How much does it cost?

The app is free, with everything it does on your own computer, and a few AI suggestions every few hours. Pro adds encrypted sync between devices, shared terminal sessions and many more AI suggestions for €9.99 a year, an introductory price for early users (the regular price is €19.99).

Does it do SFTP and SSH keys?

Yes. SFTP opens in the same session as the terminal, with your computer and the server side by side and a built-in editor for configs. Copies queue up and run three files at a time, and a folder can go as a single archive. You can generate Ed25519, ECDSA or RSA keys or import your own, and install a key on many servers at once.

Can I bring my hosts from another app? And Tailscale?

Yes. The import finds your ssh config, FileZilla, MobaXterm, PuTTY and WinSCP, or reads an export file, and brings the hosts you choose with their folders and key files. With Tailscale on the computer, your tailnet's machines come in the same way, their tiles show whether they are online, and Tailscale SSH signs you in without keys. Termius has no export of its own, so its hosts are added by hand.

Can you read my passwords and keys?

No. They are encrypted on your device before anything is sent, and the key comes from a master password we never receive. The security page says exactly what our server sees and what it does not.

Does my SSH traffic go through your servers?

No. SSH and file transfers go straight from your computer to your server. Our cloud is used only for sync, and what it stores is already encrypted.

What does the AI see?

Only what you ask it about, and only when you ask: the line you typed, your server's system and shell, the folder and a few last lines of the screen, with passwords, tokens and keys taken out first. It goes through our server to Google Gemini. Our server keeps none of the text, only how many suggestions each account asked for. A line typed with a leading space is never sent, and AI suggestions can be turned off in Settings.

What if I forget my master password?

It cannot be reset. Nobody, us included, can read the cloud copy without it, so write it down and keep it somewhere safe. Everything on your device stays exactly as it is.

Which systems does it run on?

Any Mac with macOS 11 or later, with Apple Silicon or Intel, Windows 10 or 11 (64-bit), and Linux. Check the download page for Linux build availability. Mobile apps are in the works. Your servers can be anything you reach over SSH.
